So, you may recall, I had planned on starting another one of my sober curious adventures at the beginning of September. After starting relatively strong in the first week, I actually failed pretty hard overall! I’m not proud to admit that I gave into stress and just indulged myself with all the reasons I can to justify having that glass of wine to relax.

Failures aside though, throughout the month, I very much enjoyed sampling all of the drinks and treats the good folk at Goodrays sent me! The box of goodies I received included their CBD oil, a pot of gummies and four different flavoured beverages, so I thought I’d share a bit about them with you all…

Raspberry + Guava

A bit sweet and ‘flowery’ for my personal taste but a refreshing change to the usual pink fizz or rose I often reach for.

Passionfruit + Pomelo

Possibly my least favourite BUT that’s only because it reminded me of Palma Violets sweets, which I really can’t get on board with. I tell you what though, pouring this over chunks of ice into a fancy tumbler did make me feel like I was supping on a cocktail!

Blood Orange + Grapefruit

I’m a massive blood orange fan so this was one of my favs of the bunch, the sharpness from the grapefruit worked really well too! Also, the can design complimented Buddy beautifully - I can’t resist a good label!

Elderflower + Yuzu

By far my favourite! I bloody love elderflower and any kind of lemony zing in a drink so this hit just right with it’s perfect balance of sweet and sharp. Perfect refreshment for an evening paddle along the river too.

CBD Oil - Zen Drops

I’ve never used CBD oil before but started to take a wee bit of the Zen Drops before bed some nights as I’ve had a lot of trouble sleeping lately. I’ve also used it on days where I’ve felt extra anxious but I’ll be honest, some of the stress I’ve been dealing with has completely overwhelmed me at the best of times so I can’t say whether or not it’s helped at this point.

It has a subtle, earthy taste but as you pop it under your tongue it’s not overpowering and I quite like the flavour!

CBD Gummies

The gummies are really good too! They taste great and I’m not a sweet-tooth person at all! I haven’t used these as much because I put them ‘somewhere safe’ after the first few days and cannot for the life of me remember where they are now… stay tuned!

Overall I’ve loved trying something new and would definitely recommend getting yourself some Goodrays if you’re curious about trying CBD products, especially the drinks! Whether it’s straight from the tin on a day out or poured over ice in a fancy glass, I can honestly say they’re a great alternative to booze.
